“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.”– Leonard Cohen

Who: Leonard Cohen

What: Canadian singer, songwriter, poet and novelist

When:  Sep 21, 1934 – Nov 07, 2016 (age 82)

Why:  An incredible lyrical poet, Leonard is easily one on my favorite artists and I was sadden by his passing this week.  Politics aside, his humble presence and hauntingly beautiful voice powerfully address social issues that are enormously relevant to the world we are living in at this moment.

The astounding human spirit will be the essence that connects us as a world community.  Music has the ability to bridge cultural, economic, and social gaps and is a universal human trait.  What a beautiful and wonderful thing!

No matter what your beliefs, please remember that music has a way to soothe the human soul, light it on fire, and ultimately  inspire the masses to go out everyday and create a better world for each and every one of us.

Please check out my recommendations for learning more about this artist below.

Be kind to each other.

Cheers,

M

  3. Another tragic loss this year… I was so sad, but at least he left us all so much with his words and music. That´s something to be very grateful for.
