Week 7: Dan Price

52 Faces Project

A sketch in my Moleskine daily planner of someone who inspires me, once a week, every week, in 2016.

Week 7 - D. Price
D. Price, Micron ink, colored pencil, 2016.

Who: Dan Price, also known as the Hobo Artist

What: Zine writer, sketcher,  radical simplicity enthusiast, and tiny house living trailblazer.

Where: Joseph, Oregon

Why:

The original sketchbook artist first inspired me when I came across his book Radical Simplicity in Powell’s bookstore in Portland, Oregon.  I quickly realized that this man had been producing incredible Moonlight Chronicle zines from the same rural part of Oregon where my family originally homesteaded and still go every summer!

His sketches on everyday life both in the beautiful rural Wallowa area of Oregon and on the road has inspired sketchers like Danny Gregory and Michael Nobbs.

If you are a sketchbook artist, this is one man you MUST research.  Inspiring stuff.
